Education
Children
On the 3rd Sunday of each month, children are invited forward for a Children's Sermon just before we turn to our readings for the day. After the Children's Sermon, they are invited to join our teachers for craft and art projects, games, skits, songs and more. They are brought back into worship in time to participate in communion with their families.
Confirmation
We offer a flexible Confirmation program geared to the specific needs of the child. This year, three of our tweens and teens will be joining with students from other churches in town to learn about faith in our modern, diverse world. We will be visiting other houses of worship and learning about the daily lives of faith of our neighbors, both Christians and others. Students will be encouraged to be build creative final projects that express their own personal experience as Christians in a secular world.
Adult Sunday School
Each Sunday at 9:00 a.m., September through May, we meet to discuss topics important to the lives of those in the room. Sometimes we do a deep dive into a book of the Bible. Sometimes we pick up a Bible study centered around a specific issue, such as immigration or sexuality. Last year, we learned about the life of Paul and read several of his letters. This year we are beginning with a study of the book "See Me, Believe Me," by Yolanda Denson-Byers, to learn how to be better allies to leaders of color in the Church, especially our new Presiding Bishop Yahiel Curry and our new Secretary Rev. CeCe Mills.
